What does Prompt do?
Prompt is an application for sales teams to help them have better conversations on the phone and if they get stuck, it gives them an option for what to say next, hence the name Prompt.
How does that work?
Telesales teams frequently sell the same product all day long, so conversations follow a similar structure and you will be facing similar objections- so Prompt is there to hold the hand of telesales employees through their calls.
What is your background?
When I left university I worked in telesales selling school holidays, and ended up managing a call centre, so I know first hand telesales is one of the toughest jobs out there, and that Prompt solves a very real problem.
Did you have a eureka moment about Prompt during your time working in telesales? I think it was more an organic realisation. We thought there could be something helping sales teams have good sales calls and feel less anxious about the pretty difficult job ahead of them.
How old is the company?
Not old at all, we started in 2016!
How many employees do you have?
Four including myself.
What would success look like to you?
To have Prompt on the screens of every telesales person out there.
Do you have any advice for other start up companies out there?
I think the best advice I’ve taken on myself is that there’s lots of quite glamorous startups out there, but actually there is a lot to be said about starting something within one of the less immediately attractive industries.
What does Runway East mean to you and your company?
It has allowed us to set up a company in central London with pretty much no hassle, no capital and no risk – all of the stuff that you would worry about if you were as early stage as we are. It allows you to grow because you see how quickly companies are growing here and that’s exactly what we plan to do.
What’s the best decision you’ve ever made?
I think just giving this a go. I turned down some pretty safe, practical roles. Just take a shot at whatever your vision is and just back yourself.
