New member at Runway East Moorgate, Knowledge Officer, have managed to raise a whopping £600,000 for their seed round, congratulations guys!
Knowledge Officer is an education app that is designed to help users improve their career skills by using machine learning technology to source the essential information from the web required to build learning paths. They intend to do this by filtering out clickbait and unnecessary information from the educational process of users up-skilling.
Founders Ahmed El-Shakarsy and Ahmed Eshra said: “We see the world is shifting into discovery and recommendation more than search. You open Netflix and watch the recommended films, you do the same with Spotify to listen to the best relevant music.
We want our product to serve the future of recommendation and discovery in education and learning”.
The funding comes from angel investors Ian Hurlock, former VP at Fox Interactive Media and Abdullah Alshaheen who is Chairman of FEP Capital.
